DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN ARUSHA

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by one of our experienced guides/drivers, who will escort you to Arusha for a rest at your hotel. He will introduce you to this wonderful city and country.

After your long flight, you will be pleased to know that Arusha – the undisputed safari capital of East Africa – is perched 1400 metres above sea level, keeping temperatures and humidity relatively low. Surrounding this major city are some of Tanzania’s greatest delights.

Mount Meru lies behind Arusha, while even Kilimanjaro can be seen on a clear day. Arusha offers the ideal starting point for safari lovers, within reach of the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater. A busy agricultural area, administrative and tourist centre, Arusha is the perfect place to relax after a long journey… and before setting off on safari, the holiday of a lifetime. Welcome to Arusha and welcome to Tanzania!

DAY 2: ARUSHA - P.N. TARANGIRE

Today we leave early, picking you up from your hotel in Arusha and driving south towards the stunning Tarangire National Park. Considered one of the must-visit parks to enjoy a dream safari, as it houses the largest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem – a heterogeneous mix of predators.

We arrive before lunch and begin the safari to discover the wonders of Tarangire, often known as the ‘garden of the baobabs’, a typically African tree whose legend explains that the gods turned it upside down to punish human pride. Sometimes herds of up to 300 elephants can be seen, as well as being home to buffalo, lions, wildebeest, zebras, leopards, impalas, gazelles among others.

At the end of an inspiring afternoon among wildlife, we retire to the lodge for dinner and some rest.

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

DAY 3: P.N. TARANGIRE - P.N. SERENGETI

After breakfast, we pick up and drop off from Tarangire National Park. Our journey takes us to the north-east, the park familiar to everyone – the Serengeti! Along the way, the sheer scale of the territory and the natural beauty of the landscapes are revealed and your driver-guide will help you identify the animals and birds you see along the way. This is just a preview of what is to come, because the Serengeti is home to what is arguably the world’s largest concentration of wildlife.

After enjoying a picnic lunch, you’ll be eager to discover some of the greatest wildlife opportunities in this UNESCO World Heritage Site. These ‘endless plains’ are home to elephants, buffalo, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hippos and crocodiles… the adventure has truly begun. In the late afternoon, exhausted and elated, it’s time to head to the lodge for dinner and to talk about the many fantastic experiences you’ve had today.

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

DAY 4: P.N. SERENGETI - NGORONGORO CRATER

Waking up in the Serengeti is something truly special. The sights, sounds and smells of Africa are all around us, and ahead of us lies a day full of adventure in the world’s most famous national park. After breakfast, we will continue our game drive into the centre of the park called Seronera. This area of the Serengeti is named after the Seronera River which is one of the areas with the highest density of cats in Africa. The landscape of the area is dotted with rocks, called “Kopjes”, where we can occasionally encounter lions or leopards. The open savannah south of the river is a good area to see cheetahs. marvel at the stunning scenery, ever-changing light and always entertaining wildlife.

The wonders of the Serengeti subtly evolve as the day progresses. The animals and birds are undisputedly the “stars of the show” and nature’s dramas can unfold at any time. Of course, the animals do not operate at any time of the day, so you can find lion or leopard, elephant and zebra, cheetah and antelope at any time of the day.

After lunch we will go to the Ngorongoro Crater.

On the way we can optionally visit a Masai village to learn about their culture.

Optional: Visit to the Masai tribe.

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

DAY 5: NGORONGORO CRATER – ARUSHA

Early in the morning you will descend into the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and a natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s densest animal populations. It is one of the few places where the rare black rhino can be observed in its natural environment. As very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000-foot-high walls, you can expect to see lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds and other species. This unique setting is the most likely site where you will see the famous Big 5 animals, including the black rhino.

You will have a picnic lunch on the shores of Lake Magadi, while hippos, flamingos and various birds of prey can be observed.

The Masai tribe has the privilege of being able to share this impressive space with animals, grazing their cattle in an area that has been an independent conservation area since 1956 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1978. This harmonious coexistence of man and beast makes Ngorongoro unique in Tanzania.

In the afternoon you will return to Arusha after enjoying the safari inside the crater.

Meals included: Breakfast and Lunch.
